1 Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD. AGAIN!!! That was the first word!! That is embarrassing to mankind. So the Midianites came and started burning crops and raiding and people are going into hiding. Then the Israelites cried out to GOD so HE sent Gideon! yay! He is one of my favorites! 11 The angel of the LORD came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. O my. An angel came and just sat down. And then spoke to Gideon. Seeing an angel would be enough for me, I would be scared. But then it said to him "the LORD is with you mighty warrior" How shocking!
13 "But sir," Gideon replied, "if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us?
I wonder if Gideon even know it is an angel?
Where are all his wonders that our fathers told us about when they said, 'Did not the LORD bring us up out of Egypt? Well that was one thing that the Israelites did right, they told their children about the miracles that had occurred. So that the other people don't forget GOD, unfortunately that didn't work. But it shows that the people like Gideon have hope.
