Well I have never viewed sins as equal, To me robbery is worse than pushing your brother, murder is worse than greed.
Dad had a great thought on all this, he says:
I think they are the same because God is so good and that all evil is viewed as evil. For example, if you could only jump 12 inches high, but I had a 40 inch vertical...I would seem a LOT better of a jumper than you, right? What if the person that was actually judging who was better was comparing our jumps to the distance of the moon. So, this "judger" thinks that the perfect jump is 10000miles high. When evaluating our jumps, while to US my jump is much closer than yours...looking at the total distance they would look identical. Using that same logic. God is SOOO good that when he views evils, He doesn't use MANs terms of judging sin, His is 10000 miles high..
This makes allot of sense and it is probably right, here is what I thought.
Sin is Sin, I have been studying the different sins and I found that all sins lead to every other sin, or at least the root of another sin. If you have watched veggie tales and the rummer weed you would remember that weeds would pop up all over the city but they were all connected to the main, mother weed, in this case sin. Sin has the same root it just comes up in different places.
Our opinion is what makes us think some sins are greater than other sins.
I read a book about a planet that was all about the general good, or the good of all.
People would give away great fortunes to others. To them stealing wasn't as bad as questioning authority. It is different with us. Sin has the same root.
