Christmas is coming on fast isn't it, only 4 more days!!!!!!

and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."
Luke 2: 7-15

This is the verse or verses that we have been memorizing. This passage just tells us about the ultimate gift. God gave this to us. He gave His only son to us.

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.

He was born to us, born to you. I love that!!!!!!!!!!!
He did it special for us not even thinking about himself.
Then the angels told the shepards. Why?
Why did they tell the shepards? It could be that the Shepards were the only ones awake, besides the wise men. I think it is because God wanted to choose just the right people to spread the news of our Savior. After the shepards saw Him, they went out and spread the news.
I think that another reason that God chose the shepards was because they were near to the place, it made it possible that they could go there and see that. If some other guys 80 miles away came in and said that people would be all like, Get out of here. You know?
God always has the perfect plan.
