responsibility

Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” Genesis 3:12

Adam and Eve did everything they could to not take responsibility for what they had done.
Imagine this: God is unhappy with them and He asks why have you done this? Then the couple of people who have lived together almost their whole lives turn on each other. Adam points his finger at Eve and says she gave me the fruit, it is her fault! God turns to poor Eve who was betrayed and asks why she did that. She thinks of the best excuse possible and blames the serpent who tricked her.
Pretty bad huh?
Lets go back to Adam. He was not somewhere else in the garden eating carrots happily with the bunnies when Eve ate the fruit. He was right there the whole time! So he tries to trick GOD into thinking he didn't know what he had done. What a man huh! So Adam had the worst excuse and he let Eve eat the fruit and he blamed her and he tried to trick God.
Because of those things these verses were written.

“ Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.” What profit has a man from all his labor In which he toils under the sun? One generation passes away, and another generation comes; But the earth abides forever. The sun also rises, and the sun goes down, And hastens to the place where it arose. The wind goes toward the south, And turns around to the north; The wind whirls about continually, And comes again on its circuit. All the rivers run into the sea, Yet the sea is not full; To the place from which the rivers come, There they return again. All things are full of labor; Man cannot express it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor the ear filled with hearing. That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which it may be said, “ See, this is new”? It has already been in ancient times before us. There is no remembrance of former things, Nor will there be any remembrance of things that are to come By those who will come after.
Ecclesiastes 1:2-11
