Do we just say it?

Psalm 118:24 (New International Version)
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

What does be glad in it mean?

Possibilities:
1. We are to glad in the fact that God makes everyday.

2. We are thankful to God because we are alive.

3. We are glad or happy through the day.

It could be all of those and it should, but what I think be glad in it means is that we are
Happy through the day. Maybe even because of the first 2 possibilities.

Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

JOY. I think this is what it is talking about, being happy through the day.
Rejoice in it covers the first 2 possibilities.
