11- The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails—given by one Shepherd.

12- Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them.
Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.

13- Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the whole duty of man.

14- For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.

Ecclesiastes 12: 11-14

I looked goads because I had no clue what that meant!

Goads- anything that pricks or wounds like such a stick.
something that encourages, urges, or drives; a stimulus.

I am going to start on verse 11, What in the world is this talking about! hmmm....... ok after much thought I think I have figured it out.
It says that the words of the wise are encouraging and their sayings are like firmly embedded nails, by firmly embedded nails I think it means
that it seeps into you and you remember it. You want to remember them.

Then in verse 12 it says be warned my son of anything in addition to them, or in other words, something other than wise words.
Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body. So there it is saying, don't get lazy, watch out for those things that are false.

Verse 13. It says now all has been heard and it sums up the whole chapter: Fear God and obey Him for this is our JOB!
This is what we are made for and here for.

Verse 14. God knows what we do, and He will eventually see us face to face and let us know what we did, or the other way around.
When that happens, your sitting in the JUDGMENT SEAT, doesn't that just sum it up. He know all, Sees all, hears all.
