Awana

Last night was a hard night at awana, but games were awesome! I had the big guys first. (BTW I am not using code names for people. It isn't worth it.) Damion came in first and there was something pleasant about him.. That is kinda unusual because he is usually totally "bored" during game time. This time he came in rather cheery and ready to listen. The rest of the kids piled in and sat down so I started to explain the game. It was a simple game called coin toss tag. I figured the game would work with them because it was simple but had a lot of running in it and could be fairly competitive. It went wonderfully, way beyond my expectations... Everyone loved it and it was very loud but controlled. Whenever I would hold the coin in the air, everyone would quiet down and I would flip it and call out the result. Beau played with the kids which really helped to keep the older kids interested. Beau Is awesome! He came to help even though he had a paper that was due on Friday that he wasn't finished with.

The little kid games did not go quite as well. Shelby got scared by the "wolf" as did Heather. But something really funny happened. In the middle of the game Heather yelled out, "Wait!" and she ran over to Sara. Then she put her foot next to Sara's and said, "Look! We have the same shoes!" I couldn't help but laugh. She's only 4 or 5 but she was so excited about having the same shoes as Sara. I even heard her talking to herself later on, "I can't believe Sara and I have the same shoes! So cute!
