I had a big scare last week. Like really big.
I'm not blaming anyone for what happened but here is some background info. A while back, before the scare, we were going to church and I needed to drive to megs for something but I couldn't because I didn't have my wallet with me... or my phone. So mom said, "You need to take your phone and wallet with you when we go places."
Now, that said, we were going to TKD and my gee doesn't have any pockets so I put my phone and wallet in the fold of my gee above my belt. I was a little reluctant to do so because I didn't know how secure that would be but... I did it. We had to drop off the little brothers at basketball practice first and mom asked me to get out and run a book across the parking lot to their coach, Brother G. I did so and jumped back in the van and we were off. When we got to TKD I realized that my wallet was missing. I ran back outside to see if I had dropped it in the parking lot. No luck. The car was locked and I figured that it was in there. I had a rather distracted TKD class and I did quite poorly on my forms.
After TKD I looked in the car and GASP! It wasn't there. My immediate assumption was that it had fallen out at the church where the boys were playing basketball. I became a little frustrated with mom over that but I figured it wasn't her fault and decided not to be angry. We went back to the church and scanned the parking lot for leather. Nothing. So I went inside were some kids were having baseball practice and I asked a guy if he knew if there had been a wallet found or if he knew where they would keep one if they had. He was nice and we searched the offices but we didn't find anything. We had taken 2 cars into town so dad waited outside for me while the rest of the family went home. I got back in and called Brother G. to see if they had found it, nope, but they called their contacts in the church to see if anyone else had. Good friends! helpin out.
By this time I started to think of what was in there and what would happen if I couldn't recover it. I had some walmart cards and a couple bucks in there, my drivers license, and my BANK CARD #.
Yeah, it was time to go into emergency lockdown mode. A couple minutes later we were still in the car and mom called to tell me they had found it. WOOHOO!!! Apparently I didn't even make it out of the house with it. It was on the floor in the living room open facedown. Relieved does not begin to describe how I was feeling. I took a lot of things out of the wallet that night...
