This past Saturday I went on a hike with 2 of my sisters and some of the homeschool youth group. It wasn't actually 40 miles but it felt like it. We went 12 miles... mostly uphill. It was lots of fun, a really good group. We didn't get attacked by a herd of bears or anything, it was very uneventful.
Everyone always learns something profound on a hiking trip and here is what I learned:
Some people try to make their pant legs match. Yep. Not in the color, but in the way that it sits on your shoes. Yeah, that's what I learned.
Apparently, Mom volunteered me for the home school formal. That was a little disturbing. It's not that I don't want to go to the formal, I think it will be a good opportunity to stretch myself socially. But.... I was volunteered.... By someone besides me! It kinda makes me wonder what else I am going to be volunteered for. Mom is always lookin out for me so it wont ever be a bad thing, it just might be something uncomfortable. Whatever, I can deal with that later.
I really feel like playing ultimate Frisbee.
We are writing a research paper in writing class. We are at a steady pace, so far I have my outline done, a tentative thesis statement, and some sources picked out. Somebody else at the hike mentioned writing a research paper and I was like, "Hey, me too!" And that was it.
I found a really good book about starting a business. I am hoping it becomes available on PBS.
