1 Samuel 18 and 19
That is sweet how Jonathan just totally committed himself to David. Jonathan is one of the first examples of loving your neighbor as yourself. If I am correct Saul was at his home or castle or whatever he stayed in and he was sending David out to fight he should expect the women to be singing that song. The Lord had clearly abandoned him and he was hopeless. In Saul's first attempt to kill David he escaped but my bible says he escaped twice so David must have come back again later. That is bravery and trust in the Lord and also humility because he is the anointed one and he did not decide he was to good to go in to the king to serve. Especially the king that just tried to kill him. When I first read this I was so surprised that Saul took Johnathan's advise and swore the oath not to kill David. I am not sure if Michal's lie was right or wrong but I'm pushing toward right because she was protecting David.
