Success without God

Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. Exodus 33:15

It is possible to experience success and yet not have God's presence with you.
If success is what is important to you then you may be tempted to choose accomplishments over a relationship with God. God told the Israelites that He would send an angel with them so that no army could withstand them and no wall would keep them back, but God himself would not go with them because their hearts were turned from Him. That shows that victory and accomplishment is not a sign of God's presence.
Moses said that success no matter how great is no substitute for fellowship with God.
